Thanked: 2027I spent two yrs at TSJS school of Gunsmithing,It was drilled into me that anything, mechanical can be fixed,be it a gun, a watch, a clock.
I found this to be very true.
But when your dealing with Plastic items, most times they cannot be repaired,JME.CAUTION

Hi Bob my advice would be If you like the knot in that brush why don't you put the brush in the steamer and remove the knot and have a exact handle turned for you in a nice faux horn or something that takes your fancy.

Thanked: 3228Hey Jamie
I just wanted to see if I could fix the big crack in the handle so I steamed the knot out and chucked it. After all it was only a lowly badger knot and not one of my preferred plastic synthetic knots. Just a cheap learning experiment. OTH I agree that if I wanted to save the knot I would have a new copy of the handle turned as you suggest. It just may come to that in the end anyway.

Thanked: 3228Since the butterscotch colour was only skin deep and the crack repair was holding I applied the Northern Ontario Bushwackers solution Krylon Fusion spray paint for plastic. With the mention of plastic and spray paint in the same sentence that should be enough to give Pixie the dry heaves if he sees this. Time will tell if this Red Neck solution really works.

Thanked: 4828Painted plastic is good, it's when people take really nice wood and put a coat of paint on it that makes me heave.
