Thanked: 154I LOVE IT
Your creation is quickly going around the internets good sir, that's the second time I see it today, still love itBeautiful is important, but when all is said and done, you will always be faithful to a good shaver while a bad one may detter you from ever trying again. Judge with your skin, not your eyes.

Is it the shave set for a clown? No but seriously that is really cool. I quite like it. I have also seen someone do something similar with skateboards. A lot of skateboard companies color each laminate in the board a different color and it looks really cool when you glue a bunch of bits together and then carve them.

Thanked: 2284That's what I did. Even if it Flies apart on you, who cares. This was more of a fun project than anything. Here, I'll post the YouTube vid of where I got the idea.

The worst part about doing it is you drag all the colors over top of everything when you start sanding. He mentions in the vid that it clears up as you go through your grits. IT DOESN'T! I went to 600 and it was a mess of color staining. I took 0000 steel wool and rubbed the whole thing down with the grain. Without the lathe going. This took care of the issue and cleaned it all up. You can see in my photos that the pores of the wood were filled with the colors but it gives it a cool look.Burls, Girls, and all things that Swirl....
