Thanked: 2284The Aussie/Canadian connection
Well, it's back to some wood. This one is a combination of Maple burl (Canadian) and Jarrah burl (Aussie). It was a nice change to get back to some great wood again. Forgot how long of a process it was for a wood handled brush, but I enjoyed every bit of it. Badger knot is a TGN 24mm Grade A silvertip. I took a lot of pics for this one..... just to warn you.
Thanks for looking fellas!

Andrew I forgot how gorgeous your wood brushes were. Seen so much great acrylic lately. This is amazing finish. Great stuff.

Thanked: 5The entire frame of my house is built with Jarrah. The longer it seasons, mine is now over sixty years, the tougher the timber gets. I don't know if you could get it but River Red Gum is a magnificent hard dark red irregular timber. Beautiful brush. I'm trying to calculate how many brush handles I have potentially in parts of my house I don't use - as much

Thanked: 4206Gorgeous combo Andrew!
The slash marks on the dowel, is that intentional for improved gluing or just jaw marks?
Terrific angle matching on the two materials, the jarrah seems to flow from the maple, like a reptile shedding it's skin.
Nice finish as well, that epoxy under that 'stach wrap?
