Oh Snap!! Looks great Mike and I've been looking for Tortoise rod.
Yes, that polyester rod is a different material altogether. Very brittle stuff. Much different than Acrylic too. Crank up the RPMs is what I have found helps, but even still it's a pain in the Patootie. I'd say you did very well!!Burls, Girls, and all things that Swirl....
