Question - how did you take the knot out of the old brush? I have heard horror stories on folks trying to salvage a knot from a prior brush with terrible endings.

I use steam. Put some water in a pot. Put a bowl in the pot and put the brush/knot in the bowl. Put on the lid. Bring to simmer boil and check to see if you can wiggle out the brush after about 10 minutes. If not, more time in the steam. Don't pull too hard on the knot or you might cause some shedding. When it's ready to come out, it is pretty easy to wiggle it out.
    Geezer and rolodave like this.
    Hyperbole is highly exaggerated.
