Thanked: 4207Nice piece of wood, I almost see the chubby in there trying to get out.
Can do no wrong drilling deeper now and playing with the height later to dial it in perfectly.
Also, a terrific knot to have on its way.
Looking forward to the build results.

Thanked: 2284Ok wait. If you're putting the shavemac in this one, you should definitely wait until you have it in hand. They are a little different to set compared to the Chinese knots. I think the depth for Shavemac is around 12/15mm depending on the specific loft you ordered.

Thanked: 237Well, I'm thinking this handle will be for the Chinese knot. I want to use my horn rod for the shavemac. It's at exactly 12mm right now, just bc that's what I read on shavemac's site. I'm thinking about doing a lignum vitae/horn combo on the shavemac.
OK to be honest I can't make up my mind lol. I have a few options that would all be great. Here's the Bruno wootz that I think would look real nice with a cocobolo chubby shavemac...

Thanked: 2284Horn and Lignum sounds awesome...... But Cocobolo is wonderful too. I'd wait until this Jays game is over to make a decision like that.

Thanked: 237I thought this was going to be easy. In my mind the hard part was getting together all the necessary tools! I guess I'll have to start another handle so that I can see what both my options look like before setting the epoxy.
It seems like yesterday I was asking advice on getting a lathe, and tools, and grinding jigs, etc and now I'm actually there! I also still have that buckeye burl from the brush you made for me. I want to make a chubby with that too.
