    Been there and done by that! Ebony/ blackwood is really easy to split or crack. I never found a cure except extra care. I made tampers and some fancy woodwork for the espresso crowd.

    Yea, good to know I'm not the only one. I was so angry I could have launched my lathe across the yard... I'm cooled off now, but going to hold off for a few days before I try again.
