Thanked: 4206Couple of 30 mm brushes
Working on a couple of big brushes, the one all walnut,
And beside its 24 mm inspiration,
And another in a three wood combination comprising walnut, yew, and spalted elm.
Never tried making brushes this big so I thought I would give it a go. Will make for a very large latherer.
Still need to finish sand and seal them up.
Thinking an oil finish on these as I like the hand rubbed luster.

Thanked: 3225Nicely done. If I ever have to shave an elephant I'll know where to look for a brush. Man they are big.

Thanked: 2284Nice Mike. Love that last one, should change colour a bit when you oil them and really make them look sweet. IMO, 30mm is waaay too big big of a brush, and just doesn't work for me. The 30mm I have sits on the shelf, and collects dust. I know there's a ton of guys that love em tho.

Really, great brushes, but that is a huge diameter, I'm a big guy, but when you use a brush that size and it consumes the entire side of one side of your face, doesn't leave much room for swirling, scrubbing and lathering...sheesh, every time I use a brush that big I end up washing my forehead at the same time.
Great work though, and as always in this sport, if you like em big, rock on....

Very nicely done. I enjoy using my 33mm Thäter a couple times a week, and would certainly enjoy one of those. Great job.

Thanked: 4249Nice work! The last one with the contrasting wood is very appealing to me. Oil finish definitely no need for plastic over wood.

Looking good, I myself don't like the big ones even though I have 2 of them, big lather they do but I can't get any face lathering going without soap in my ears , eyes, and chest! But they look cool on the display
The biggest one is 32mm the other is 30mm next to my Chubby 2 that's 26“ I,m getting the impression that everyone thinks I have TIME to fix their bikes”

Bevo needs a shave, knots that big look better in a display, than in action
