One more coat of oil ought to do it but the tone of the wood is really starting to come out.

TC, you have some awesome brushes. See some pixelfixed and some walleyeman there if I'm not mistaken. Most envious brother. Couple of very skilled turners there..
So consensus on the big brushes seems clear that it'll be too big, but I look forward to testing it out myself. Using up more soap is not a hardship in the pursuit of the full face lather. Lol..

Did that Yew drive you crazy? The grain can pull a bit in it and make you loose your patience. They are looking pretty darn sweet. I have no experience with brushes that big but I just imagine how big they will bloom. Should be fun to play around with.

Yes it was very bitey stuff with the grain grab. Switched to my carbide round cutter and it was pretty predictable from there. Reminded me of pine, a bit, but much harder.
Nice wood, but my table saw sure didn't like it much. Groaned like an old man cutting the piece off for the handle.

Does not say much for the exquisite end-work my widdle 24 mm brush of Shavemac knot which went up to Ontario.

You mean this beaver? Oh it's goin on. An authentic Canadian icon..sealed for all prosperity, or to play the nickel slots in a pinch.
