    Absolutely beautiful work! nothing quite as satisfying as working with wood, bringing something hidden inside a block of wood out into the light!

    Don't usually spend much time at the brush forum, but glad I saw this. That is fantastic work! I really like how you made the hourglass with the grain positioning of the two pieces.

    What grit do you use on the faces of the wood/antler that are being glued together? What adhesive did you use?

    Thanks Man! I generally use 120 or 80 on the faces being glued. Sand, wipe clean with methyl hydrate and adhere.

    The glue I use for these types of glue ups is a 24hr. cold cure, specifically designed for oily/acidic wood called G2.

    Beautiful work as always Andrew! I just got some cocobola in the other day, want to make some razor scales and try a brush handle ( you've inspired me!) tell me more about that hard wax oil finish , who makes it etc.
