Pipe Brush
Got this great idea from Leonard when I saw his brush made from a pipe.
Was at goodwill with my wife and spotted this briarwood pipe under a bunch of stuff and very dirty... Cost me 11cents! Figured it would be a fun brush project.
I cut off the stem and sanded the pipe smooth and round. Making a plug from the stem to try to make the hole blend in invisible.
I'll be sanding a small flat point at the bottom of brush handle to rest on. Also drilling down from the top and stopping above the bottom to insert a powerful magnet so that it will hang from a stand without showing the magnet. Also will make a stand out of a candlestick. Not sure which metal yet.
The bowl of the pipe is 19mm. I'll see if I have a plug but I think I may only have large ones.
Sorry to bring a half completed project, just getting eager to post an actual project..
Hehehe
Hopefully these pictures come through, otherwise I'll have to wait until my wife gets home tonight to use the computer with her hotspot. Somehow this phone doesn't have it.
Really crossing my fingers here!

Okay sweet!!! I found my badger plugs
A 19mm and a 22mm.
Will have to open the hole up a little. Not sure which one to use though.
Here a picture.
Edit: I can't figure out how to get the picture to turn. And now there's a duplicate! LolLast edited by MikeT; 08-24-2018 at 11:18 PM.

Looks like its going to be nice. Nice creative thinking. Go with the 19mm knot. Now I have to get some knots.

Nice Mike. Briar wood is so cool and dence. I used to be a pipe smoker and had a lot of them. None any more. I will be watching to see the finshed product. Thanks to Leonard for this idea.
It's just Sharpening, right?

yep, good idea. Been looking for some pipes myself for the same type of thing (of course when you want them you can't find them).

Oh man, that’s cool! I went through a pipe phase - bought some beautiful pipes! This would be the perfect solution for them. The wood on my pipes is outstanding.

Definitely a great idea!
Really easy too. Took a little sanding but there's already such a beautiful base to work with.
Today I'm going out to find some metal hardware for it.
Many options!

There we go!!!
I was just waiting for you to say a few catalytic words of encouragement..
While you were away Tom, I lost my focus, you're gonna have to stop taking breaks if I'm to get anything done!
Hehehe!
Okay so there are a couple parts I need to make it happen and the place to get them has strange hours and I've resolved to ordering it online.
It's a secret but I assure you it will be cool!
Also I've been working doubles to catch up but have a break coming up..
I know I know ... excuses are like solid waste ports, everyone's got one.

Oh lord...Star Trek meets Buck Rodgers!
So I was thinking one of those pipe-bowls enameled white epoxied into a Victorian egg-stand thingy like Razorfeld uses!
All kinds,,,China, silver....Jadite!
An Egg Brush!...I am a genius.
