Thanked: 4207Thanks Tim. I do try get things as close to perfect as I can.
I may stop short of recreating the rubberset trademark butt logo although I do have the image.
I figure maybe replica isn’t quite the right word, maybe homage might be the better word.
Wouldn’t be true branding mine as made in USA, will settle for made in NA.
Have actually been considering a makers mark that my daughter designed for me.
Lots more tweaking on this design before I’d be proud to put a mark to it. These will end up kindling if I’m not happy with the results.
I’ve created these in 2 separate turning programs so I can mix up materials on the end results between base and ferrule.
From a dimensional perspective, I’ve got them pretty tight to true.
More images and experiments to follow.
The below are a one piece in walnut, a base in an American burl, and one of my older prototype alumilite castings in bronze that didn’t quite work but is saved for dimensional reference.
