I recently read that, yes - and I think that experience was how he was able to make Maturin's "outsider" character so believable. I'm definitely planning on getting that biography soon (as well as the cookbook).

Just finished "A Round Heeled Woman " by Jane Juska. An entertaining book, enough so that I'll check out her other book.
Next up is "The Art of Thinking Clearly " by Rolf Dobelli. I hold high hopes for this book.

Pale Horse Coming by Stephen Hunter. He is a great story teller, especially if you like action thrillers with lots of gun play.

I'm reading The Big Burn. The beginning of the book is about Teddy Roosevelt and the formation of the forest service. The fires have just started a chapter ago. Not really a page turner, but very readable. A good description of life in the west in 1910.

Yup, I read it. Out of 10 possible points, I'd give it a 5 maximum

I finished The Investigation and also read Eileen. (I'd also read Girl Gone just to see what all the hype was about.) Next is 84 Charing Cross Road.
