I think its just for the Man of Steel sequel, and not for the Batman movie series... cross your fingers.
Still... Ben is not my choice for Batman in any movie. I didn't even like him as Daredevil. You can take the boy out of NY, but you can't take NY out of the boy.

I think Ben will do a good job in the role. He’s really matured as an actor over the years, getting married, becoming a father. Have you seen Argo? He was phenomenal in that. I remember when the first (new) Batman came out and everybody said the same thing about Christian Bale. But those movies did pretty well.
I believe the premise for this one is sort of loosely based on The Dark Knight Returns, the famous Frank Miller graphic novel. Batman is an older grizzled crime fighter coming out of retirement. Sounds like it has promise.
Also, if you are basing judgments on “Daredevil” I encourage you to watch the director’s cut. Normally I think they are stupid, just an extra few minutes of nonsense, bad dialogue, or CGI ewoks. In Daredevil you will really question what they were thinking by removing these scenes. I really hated Daredevil when I initially saw it. The director’s cut just connects so much of the story. Imagine if you watched the Dark Knight Rises, and at the end, you see Robin find the batcave…only that was the first time you ever saw him in the movie. You would wonder WTF is going on. Now imagine in the director’s cut you see the film the way it was released. It makes sense. That’s the director’s cut of Daredevil. Check out the reviews on Amazon. The original gets 1 ½ stars out of 5. The DC version gets 4/5.
@Henry = no its for the Batman Superman crossover movie, which is seperate to any Superman sequel. It will also be used to set up the eventual Justice League movie they are planning to make.
I think he will do okay in the role at a minimum and will probably surprise a lot of folks. Like when they cast Tom Hardy as Bane. Man the internet hate was out in full force. But turns out he did a really good job. I’m prepared to apologize if the movie sucks.

Okay Darth - I'll check it out if I can find it on Netflix or somewhere. Just be prepared... if it still sucks.. you will have a different group of protesters outside your building..
"DC of Daredevil - SUX" is what my sign will read.

The directors cut of aliens makes the whole movie make more sense. Sorry not really batman related.

Thanked: 1587More Batman movies? I just cannot keep up anymore (or, to be more precise, simply don't care any more
). However, I do see why people might think Ben Affleck is a weird choice. Personally I'd love to see Vin Diesel play Batman. He'd bring a gravitas to the role, and they could do a Fast and Furious tie-in - battle of the franchises - Batman 16 vs Fast and Furious 11: in which Bruce Wayne bets it all and loses the Batmobile in a street race against dodgy Russian Mafia - backed terrorists. Action-packed adventure ensues....
Man, that thing really writes itself!
Now if they wanted to make some Phantom movies, that would be another story altogether!!

Yeah, they made a Phantom movie with Billy Zane of "Titanic" bad guy fame a few years back. It was...I guess the "Lone Ranger" of its time. That is to say, it sucked worse than a Justin Beiber/Lady Gaga duet of Frank Sinatra's "The Lady is a Tramp."

I thought the last few batman movies have sucked anyway( I've seen Bale as B.Wayne I and II, can't be bothered to see III). So Ben Affleck ruins another one? I quit caring years ago. Anything with Ben Affleck is a must miss. IMO

It would have been amazing to see Kevin Conroy as Batman...
I have a feeling that WB will rush everything and mess up the JLA movie. Part of the reason why the avengers was so successful was because they took the time to do the individual movies, enabling them to jump right into the action when everyone was throw into one movie.
I've heard that all only Superman, Flash, Batman, Green Lantern and Wonder Woman will be in the movie, leaving out Martian Manhunter. I've also heard that they don't want to do a Wonder Woman movie fearing that it wouldn't do well (completely absurd).
I really, really hope that they don't screw it up...I prefer DC over marvel and am a big fan of the Justice League.
I'm still upset over Young Justice being cancelled so I don't have much hope in Warner Bros. at this point.

Man I'm gettin tired of all of these butthurt fanboys complaining about Ben Affleck as Batman and what a terrible job he will do. Lets recap some people.
As I recall, cause I was 17, Micheal Keaton played Batman. Micheal...Keaton. Yeah, he really looked like Batman/Bruce Wayne but everybody loved him for some reason. Then they got Val Kilmer, who everybody hated, but he turned out to be a good Batman even though the movie was awful. Then they got George Clooney, and I remember everybody bein all "finally, someone who looks like Bruce Wayne/batman." What an abortion that turned out to be.
I can remember all of the hate when they cast Christian Bale (a Brit playing Batman? Next thing you're gonna tell me they'll cast an American as Sherlock Holmes and he'll do a great job. LUDICROUS!)
Lets not forget when they cast a blonde haired blue eyed Daniel Craig as James Bond. My god, what a catastrophe those 3 multimillion dollar box office sensations that redefined a genre and character for a modern audience turned out to be.
So now they cast Ben Affleck as Batman. He will probably suck balls just like Heath Ledger did as the Joker. You should officially boycott the film. Or sign a petition. That will change the directors mind. Next thing you know they are gonna make a movie starring that mincing sissy from The Princess Diaries 2, the outspoken homosexual from Heroes and the goofy guy from Shaun of the Dead as Kirk, Spock, and Scotty in an incredible series of remakes of the original Star Trek series! Hahahah...wait?.
As far as the fears of a Wonder Woman movie not doing well being completely absurd, I will completely disagree. Hollywood is in the business of making movies that make money, not lose it. Lets look at the track record of female super movies. Elektra - failure. Catwoman - failure. The Bionic Woman television series, cancelled after about 9 episodes. The Birds of Prey television show - cancelled after like 13 episodes. The Wonder Woman animated movie starring Kerri Russel - I loved it and so did the critics, but a commercial failure. Plus, you have 2 equally bitchy sides of a coin when you do a Wonder Woman movie. Either you please the modern women of today and make her wear armor or pants and a tunic or something, but women are a small percentage of the super hero movie demographic. So you please the traditionalists by making Wonder Woman wear panties and a bustier resulting feminazi protests at the hypersexualization of women in super hero films. Plus, have you really read the origin of Wonder Woman? It's pretty...I mean...she can be rendered helpless when a man ties her up with her magic lasso. Even her creator admitted he created the character with a lot of bondage themes and discipline. He himself had a polygamous relationship of S&M with his wife and their "housekeeper."
I'm not just talking out my ass here either. One of my Soldiers sisters is a writer for "Life" and "Justified" and we discussed this at length when she was visiting him. They even tried to get Joss Whedon, of Buffy the Vampire Slayer fame and who grew up raised by his feminist mother to direct it and thought it would be very difficult if not impossible to make a commercially viable Wonder Woman. This from a dude who LOVES strong female characters.
If the do make a Justice League movie, I hope they do it right and not rush it or get the guy who directed GI JOE to make it. It should be darker than a Marvel film, more grown up and adult oriented in my opinion. Sad that they won't have Martian Manhunter, but I can understand. I know who he is from the Justice League cartoon and comics, but when I mentioned to to regular non comic people they were all like "Who?" They knew Green Lantern, Flash...they basically knew the Superfriends. I just pray they don't try to shoehorn The Wonder Twins into the movie.
I will leave all of the Ben Affleck haters with collage of Internet snippets I compiled about what a terrible job Heath Ledger would do as the Joker and how he would completely destroy the franchise. Enjoy!Last edited by Darth; 08-27-2013 at 03:25 AM.
