I personally believe we shouldn't get involved, at least not in a military sense. We have enough to deal with at home. Our nation is still reeling from Iraq and Afghanistan, and some would say we're on the verge of tearing ourselves apart and possibly close to a revolt (I'm not going to debate one side or the other on this, just making this statement based on opinions folks have expressed to me).

If we can't keep our own house in order, what business do we have trying to clean up the one down the block?

Also, I would bring this to attention as well: How many countries do you think still trust us after what the NSA has done to us, as well as the UN and Germany (one ally we've probably lost for sure) and many, many more. I don't know about you, but if I'm going to get in a street fight with a bunch of thugs, I would want someone I knew I could trust backing my play. Right now, our government is not very popular on the international stage, and as such, might have a hard time getting support or even just cooperation from other nations.

Sometimes, you just have to let the world play itself out and pick up the pieces later. I'm certainly not advocating violence against innocent people, it's just that we already have that here. You don't see every Tom, Dick and Harry going all Batman and and stopping it here, so why should GI Joe go and go do it there (and I mean no disrespect to any of our military... just using a general term).

I'll even put it another way... If a doctor becomes sick and doesn't treat himself, which threatens his life, how much value will he be to his patients?
