People seem to have an this mindset that as time advances things get better and the world becomes a better place for everybody. This is unfortunate because civilizations rise and fall and maybe in the 23rd century some archaeologists will unearth the remains of our time and think what a wonderful advanced society we had.

What I said wasn't a dig at previous generations for doing things wrong or saying you've had it easy (I'm not exactly a millenial, I was born in 1980). It was however as "stop complaining about the current generation, you may think they have it easy. But things are never quite as easy as they seem."
Didn't mean to imply you specifically felt that way. I was just using your post as an example of the "everything before was so much better" mantra that tends to hold people back from creatively changing their situation. Also didn't take your comments as a dig. I don't offend that easily. I'd be the first to say that the younger generations live in a more complicated environment. It requires adapting to new ways of accomplishing goals. More important to make sure they have goals.

Adapt to your environment. Reminds me of Einstein's definition of Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

I thought just about everything was screwed up in the 70s until the 90s hit and then I reminisced about those really crazy and fun 70's. Did it again in 2008 regarding the mid 90's. Then again I may be insane...
