Here is an abbreviated version of something I wrote when I couldn't sleep:
    INSOMNIA
insomnia is not a thief of sleep,
it is more of a prison that traps the sleep within,
    it is always there,
    taunting you,
    tantalizing you,
    but just out of reach,
    inaccessible,
    insomnia is a bastard.
Bread and water can so easily become tea and toast

Causing pain is easier than gaining forgiveness from those you have hurt. Think before you speak. Am atheist but some things ring true. "Treat others as you would have them treat you".

    In the Beginning -

    In the beginning
    Good always overpowered the evils
    Of all man's sins...
    But in time
    The nations grew weak
And our cities fell to slums
    While evil stood strong
    In the dusts of hell
    Lurked the blackest of hates
    For he whom they feared
Awaited them... Now many many lifetimes later
    Lay destroyed, beaten, beaten down,
    Only the corpses of rebels
    Ashes of dreams
    And blood stained streets
    It has been written
    "Those who have the youth
    Have the future"
So come now, children of the beast
    Be strong
    And Shout at the Devil.

    Yeah yeah ..... I'm a Crue fan. 8)

Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer
    Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned.
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
    Are full of passionate intensity.

It is likely enough that lions and scorpions
Guard the end; life never was bonded to be endurable nor
    the act of dying
Unpainful; the brain burning too often
Earns, though it held itself detached from the object,
    often a burnt age.
No matter, I shall not shorten it by hand.
Incapable of body or unmoved of brain is no evil, one always
    went envying
The quietness of stones. But if the striped blossom
Insanity spread lewd splendors and lightning terrors at the end
    of the forest;
Or intolerable pain work its known miracle,
Exile the monarch soul, set a sick monkey in the office …
    remember me
Entire and balanced when I was younger,
And could lift stones, and comprehend in the praises
    the cruelties of life.

Safe is the man with blunderbuss,
that stalks the hippopotamus on Niger's bank.
Or scours the veldt to rape the lion of it's pelt.
But deep in peril, he who sits at home to wrack his loney wits
and there do battle, grim and blind against the jackals of the mind.

All men dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds, wake in the day to find that
it was vanity; but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act on their dreams with open eyes , to make them possible.

I've often said......there are gators and gazelles at this watering hole of life, which one are you ? It's not so much a saying as it is a philosophy. Gators are ever watchful and keep their distance from trouble . Gazelles happily follow the herd and think all is peachy till........SNAP !
