    So you blokes change the name of your animal to suit it's fur colour. You have the black bear, brown bear and the grizzley bear

    You have a similar thing going with deer...and groundhogs/woodchucks/rockchucks/marmots are the same except they part their hair in different ways. And don't ask me what the difference is between Bison and Buffalo, because I just don't know!

    The there is the mountain lion, or is it a Puma?!

    And then you have about a billion of these furry little buggers...

    You can add Cougar to Mountain Lion/Puma and there are others to for the same cat. There are also the Elk/Wapiti or the Bobcat/Lynx things too. Yes, we aim to baffle but not always with brilliance.

    Good catch Ed. The Grizzly Bear is a different species from the North American Black Bear.

    It gets a bit confusing especially with the different colourations. This is a Black Bear sow, in cinnamon/brown colouration with her two cubs.

    You can add Polar Bear to the list which is a white color.

    And just add a little trivia to the mix, it's the one that consumes the most meat in it's diet all of our others eat berries and other plant matter.

    Oh, and a black bear can also look blue, I've seen one.

    Now in your spare time perhaps you can answer a child's riddle from over here;

    How much wood could a Woodchuck chuck if a Woodchuck could chuck wood?

    Also referred to as "painter" or panther in some regions. What we call a moose is referred to as elk in some parts of Europe. Like Bob said, our elk are sometimes called wapiti.
