I was going to say goonbag (box), but i am not quite that unclassy. Though l did once buy a 1.5 litre bottle of red I a plastic bottle, then proceeded to have a skulling comp with one of my friends. That was a long time ago now though.

Back in historical times when men had to train small dinosaurs for equestrian events, so to speak, goonbag wine was the preferred drink. It, according to paleoethnologists, caused distortions in the perception of time. So Ed, that skull comp may have happened last week. I hope I'm not being to snobbish by bring higher education into this thread. Anyway, decant or not to decant......I'm shaking so much by the time I get the paper bag covered bottle's cap unscrewed, decanting is just not an option.

nowt wrong with higher education, its those that have issues with it that are the real snobs, though they think they aren't - if indeed they are capable of creating a coherent string of thoughts together, they are (anti)snobs, to the same level that the traditional snob is the other way, as we know everything is circular, so if you go far enough one way and someone else does the other, assuming you are both moving at the same rate you will meet at exactly 180 degrees.
obvious caveat: object must be evenly circular ie no mountains to climb, unless there is an equal mountain or valley on the other.

thinking of that if you have a valley and mountain, assuming that they were exact mirror opposites of each other, and you didn't have to worry about the rarity of the oxygen, would it be easier to go up first, then down or vice versa?

I discovered that simply laying a traffic cone on its side and putting your phone as far back as possible speaker side up works well too. This also works as an improvised megaphone.
