Thread Removed?
Good evening, I hope everyone is doing well. I am writing because a thread I recently started unfortunately became a little contentious (which was NOT my desire at all) because certain users were unable to stay to the stated topic.
I started a thread titled "Bible Verse of the Day." Very similar to other "of the day" threads. I do not apologize for this, and I think it has every right to be on this forum like many other threads which, while having nothing to do with shaving represent our diverse straight razor shaving culture. The thread was over 8 pages, and had over 100 likes. However, I noticed this afternoon that any trace of that thread has been removed from straight razor place, including all my personal posts, photos, links, etc. and other users have contacted me wanting to know what happened.
I received no notice the thread I started was going to be, or has been removed. I have received no reason for why the thread is missing, nor have I heard if it is going to be available again.
I am posting here, because Otto the only moderator I remember commenting on my thread does not have any available space in his inbox, and so I could not PM him. Hopefully this post will be able to connect me with someone who can give me information and, I believe a well deserved explanation.
Thank you,
Joel Lewicki

The thread is currently under review by the Moderation team. Until the team comes to an agreement as to what is to be done with the thread it will remain dormant.

Very interesting topic (post), too bad the comments becoming the devils advocate could not be removed exclusively. I don't understand why someone who dislikes something so much spends so much time being involved in it instead of going elsewhere.
The value and interest of life is not so much to do conspicuous things.........as to do ordinary things with the perception of their enormous value.

Yes, sorry, I removed the thread for review by the moderators.
Usually when we remove a post we notify the poster. With threads we may notify the member who started the thread, however we are not notifying everybody because that is not only inefficient, but more importantly ineffective. We need to be able to do our job without distracting background (cf. post #4 above).
We have 18 moderators, so if you can not reach a specific one, it is best to contact some of the others.

After review by the moderators we have decided that the bible verses thread will not be reinstated.
It is clear that there are two opposing groups, one which sees the Bible as a matter of truth and deeply held belief, the other as a book of inconsistencies and falsehoods. Neither of those groups wants to coexist in the thread.
SRP is a shaving site which is accepting and welcoming of people of any religion, or lack of religion and it will not pick one side over the other.
Since the vast majority of participants in the thread have demonstrated intolerance towards their fellow members who do not share their viewpoints and beliefs, the thread will not be reinstated because it has turned out to be extremely divisive.
This is unfortunate, however, I hope that it will be an opportunity for members to examine themselves and their attitudes, and conduct themselves differently in the future.
