Thanks for the comment, but I've never carefully thought out anything in my life,,,,,
That's why I've been thrown in the box so many times in my life.

I can't give thoughts on on your question without some documents, links,,etc.

Let me clarify my feelings on such topics,,,it's not that I believe that such fears/worries are without total merit,,,it's just that I know we give the Government much more credit than is deserved, to pull off any successful operation in America, especially a large scale one. Hell, we can't even get aid to our embassies, when overwhelming response is only an hour away. What makes people think that the government could take & hold a small town in Montana, much less, an area like South Central LA.

Hell, people need healthcare & the government can't even get up a working website. Think of the logistics involved in a situation like the one that worries many people.

That's why I'm thinking there is a general concern for financial/societal collapse among the fed. The quote I posted was from the OIG's official and only, as far as I've seen, response to inquiries made regarding the unprecedented sized of ammo order. All easily found with a quick search.

I completely agree on the fed gov's utter ineptitute. There's nothing it can't ruin. I believe the fed should keeps its hands off a whole lotta things. I didn't mean to imply that I'm in fear of being shipped off to a FEMA camp(hmmm...).

Here's one phrase that should strike fear into the heart of any American: "Hi, I'm from the government and I'm here to help."

All the research I have done indicates this is just inflationary internet hype. This "ammo buy" started a year ago at 1.6 billion and was debunked then now its back and its 2 billion? Sounds like typical internet fear mongering.

Great info. I started doing a little digging over lunch and found other food for thought.

    https://www.fbo.gov/index?s=opportun...source=message
SSA 174,000 hollow point rounds to 41 locations. Social Security Administration? Really?

NOAA 46,000 rounds 500 paper targets. The National Weather Service?
    https://www.fbo.gov/index?s=opportun...150cb&_cview=0

USPS needs guns and ammo?? “This is a standard purchase of ammunition to meet the law enforcement needs of the United States Postal Inspection Service and Postal Police.” Aren't there already standard law enforcement mechanisms? Why does the USPS need their own arm of enforcement.

I'm sure there are other examples out there. I thought we already have law enforcement mechanism standard throughout the country.

    kind regards,

We do have "standard" law enforcement mechanisms in this country. Just for giggles, one day my friends and I tried to count how many law enforcement agencies there are with agents in the Tucson area. We quit counting at 50 and did not include any of the "special" enforcement agencies like USPS inspectors/investigators. Conclusion, we live in a police state.

On the other hand, mail fraud and theft are already expensive problems and growing. Your local gendarmerie is likely too busy to deal with it or have the jurisdiction to follow it to other states, so who will be spearheading the investigation if not the USPS?

Everyone should own a submachine gun, or have the right to!

Besides, if the CDC can prepare for a zombie attack, why can't the general public?

If the Government gets it to work its by PURE accident. i HAVE FULL FAITH IN MY GOVERNMENT that they will screw it up. Dont worry!!!...the hardest thing they will do is take away your drivers license. Then you can't even reproduce as you cant, cause you have no car. Your wife, if you have one, wont like the fact thatyou dont have a drivers license. Takes a bit of time but she will be pissed. You cant get a date..No drivers license... Weve been taught that. No reproduction without paying. Obama Care? dont pay and guess what...They take away your drivers licence....LOOK IT UP!! Its handled by the IRS. Dont pay again...They take away your business license. Dont pay again for the third time...they take away your passport. Is this gonna happen? IT IS happening! In CA at least..

Just for info to most of you the U.S Code provides for enforcement for just about every agency out there. Not all have arrest powers or carry weapons but many do.

Why do we have to have this? Well pick up a history book and follow our country's history. Most agencies were created to do what individual states couldn't or wouldn't do for a multitude of reasons none valid. Consider what's going on in W Virginia and N Carolina where they failed to regulate Corporations because the outfits pretty much own the states vis a vis the water pollution issues. This stuff has been going on for decades so there's the EPA being created. ATF created to handle crime gangs in the 1920s and 30s because states were controlled by the mob and you could go on and on.

As far as Mr Reagan and his I'm here from the Govt remark keep in mind he expanded the Fed Govt more than most presidents ever did.

One .308 bolt gun in the right hands beats a truckload of sub-machineguns every day.

Especially the way they train those people.

Here in LA, when a nut job was shooting up the airport, all the TSA people ran away, so they could not even find out where the shooter was for several minutes.

The”official” report says the emergency equipment was not operating properly, because they all ran away. Some dude called in the alarm from a cell phone.
It was local cops that took him down.

    What does TSA stand for?

Oh yea, Transportation Security Administration… I feel so secure.

TSA are not law enforcement and not armed. They can't arrest you. They call the local cops for that. They are baggage screeners pure and simple.
