Sometimes change is hard to initiate but if you plan wisely you can do anything in this world you want. I have proven that to myself and you can too. Just don't do anything crazy.

Burning bridges takes effort... I've gotten jobs cause I 'burned bridges'.

I have walked off twice in my life. Many years ago with low paying temp jobs. So long ago and short term they have disappeared from my resume! Many years of being the sole wage earner for my family kept me from walking off a few times. Not all bad in hind sight. Everyone has a bad day now and then! My last job I decided I was going to quit and it took me a year before I found a proper fit and gave my 2 week notice. I am glad I had the patience. I have been there 15+ years now. My present job requires a 2 week notice by my contract or I loose my severance pay. My father told me that work became much easier once he didn't have to. I am to a point in my life that I can see his thinking. I can tell my employer to go to hell tomorrow morning and I would have to cut back on my lifestyle but I would be all right. That is a good feeling!
