Thread: The world I would love to live in.

I don't want this to be political, but invariably it will be. I also don't want to start an argument, but maybe a debate. Once you move to arguing, I feel people shut down their brains and won't budge or considering someone else's point.

I think people are inherently good or always want to be. Sure, there are always a few bad apples, but most everyone is naturally good. I base my entire view of the world on this opinion. I also think anyone who SEEKS out power has something inherently wrong with them.

The U.S. has become more and more restrictive in my mind and people seem to buy into making illegal what they don't like. We try to litigate morality. Everything should be legal except if you are directly harming another person or their property. Gun, drugs, marriage, religion, etc.... It should all be allowed unless you are directly harming another person. By harm I don't mean "Oh you have emotionally scarred me by walking around with a pistol on your hip. I am scared."; I mean direct, real harm.

We as a people need to take responsibility for ourselves. I would rather live in a more "dangerous" world than deal with government having their hand in everything. They are taking our freedom and not giving anything in return. You cannot stop evil people from doing evil things completely. If we put people on the moon you can't stop someone from hurting others just by taking away means of doing harm.

I have more to say on the subject, but I'll leave it at that for now.
