Back from the Sandbox
It's been awhile since I last posted, about 7 months to be exact. I returned from a TDY to Washington, D.C. and 4 days later got put on a plane for Jordan for 6-12 months. Anyway, our JWICS AND SIPR net were amazing, but our NIPR (regular net) was awful, so I just gave up. It took like 15 minutes just to load hotmail. Anyway, I am back, having earned another combat patch and an 11th combat stripe. I am currently clearing Fort Bliss and preparing for my move to my next duty station in Los Angeles. Hope things were well while I was gone. Talk to you all later.

Welcome back! I'm glad that you're safe and sound.
Yeah, the NIPR net can be painfully slow; there were times when I had to deal with a net that was so slow that I could count to 20 before the character I'd typed would appear on the monitor!
Again: WELCOME BACK! And I hope that your stay in CONUS will be nice and long. When you are dead, you don't know that you are dead. It's difficult only for the others.
It's the same when you are stupid.

Yeah Jordan's not bad, at least not at first. It is the most westernized and culturally accepting state over there. Turkey is close, but I think Jordan edges them out. Unfortunately they are surrounded by crazy on every side.
I don't know what the SoCal meet is but I should be in LA on the 1st of August. I have to I process and find a place to hang my hat, and the I have 47 days of use or lose leave I have to take before October 1st, so I SHOULD be there then. I would really like to get a professional class on stropping if they have one available. I was pretty famous on the base in Jordan for my shaving. People would see me using the straight razor and be like "Holy shit! That's old school." I actually converted 2 people and got another to take baby steps with one of the looks like a Mach 3 but it's just a handle with a razor blade things. I also taught 4 guys and one chick to drive a manual, so I did my job of enhancing the manliness level of the world as well as catching bad guys.
