Exactly so. Luckily some few military professions (like mine) give a good changes to work in the civil life but if you are military police or something like that, you can walk the dog, behave like a d#ck and make a loud blather but not much more. Might be difficult to find a job with a skills like that

Seriously. We have somewhat good social security system, but it ain't really easy to find a job at the age of 55 with no proper skills.

My stepfather was an af pilot. He retired at the age of 37.
Some professions still have special retirement ages like navy divers, af and heco pilots etc. Strangely heco pilots can retire at the age of 48 but heco surface rescuers, 'tea bags', retire at the normal 55. I wonder which is more stressing job.

Well perhaps that would be seen as karma on the part of the guys who behaved like dicks for the 25 years of their career besides they could always get jobs as town criers, dog walkers or shopping centre security guards.

When I get older..I'm gonna be the village idiot....oh wait..............

Then again. If i'm to retire at the age of 55, my wife wil retire at the age of 63. She ain't gonna watch me being lazy at home for 8 long years before her.
