Andrew, I was a painter for many years. I'm a fabric artist now. Mainly wall hangings. Similar approach, less messy. Now, if it isn't right, I don't paint over it, I just rip out the stitches and start again. Am currently working on a wall hanging inspired by a 12 minute piece of music. Once in a very blue moon I will see colors when I hear a piece of music. This is one of them. And it's a bitch translating, time, tempo, rhythm and color into a two dimensional representation. I figure it will take at least a year to complete. So far I have maybe about one minute of the music translated into fabric and embellishments. I do love that sense of accomplishment when you get something right (usually calls for a good Vodka Gibson to commemorate).
