Thank you. I washed windows all day. I bartended from 3pm to 2 am EVERY DAY except monday...the hard part is grocers have to unload reload talk organize count money sweep clean mop count again and do it again and again..It is thankless. . All I had to do was clean up the mess. And count. And pour more drinks the next night.
The grass may look greener on the other side of the fence,
but at the end of the day that just means more mowing to do.
I love my job...It took me 15 yrs. to get into where I work........ Now 6 yrs. later, a new owner has taken over - they have decided there's to many people. Mind you this place has been profitable since 1931 even with a 125 employee's. When I started there was only 76 employee's. The new company has decided to run this operation remotely with 35 people- and contract out the labor. Makes me sad, worked hard to get here. Now it'll be all over this April...looking for a job isn't fun in these times...
Just last month they had 180 yrs. worth of knowledge walk out the door - incredible!
Just bust your axe...you'll be fine. A new owner means goodby. Theres a lot of people that spend godzillions to tell you whats best for you..don't buy into it. Simple as that again. You know whats best for you.

I hate to hear these stories of guys losing jobs but until we get together and insist something be done about it what can you say ?
Yes 10Pups It's called building. Making things. I thought I was the only one who lost a job. Men build. others destroy. As simple as that.
I quite like my job. What I hate is our government telling me after 35 years in the building industry that I need to apply for a licence to do what I do, $600, then I must pay an annual fee $180, and I must go on refresher courses, read pamphlets, earn points and do even more paper work than before. And if I am a good boy, might get a gold sticker. It really is doing my head in.
