Just finished listening to Terry Gross' PBS radio show Fresh Air. She replayed her 2001 interview with Tom and Ray. It was a great interview and if you get the chance to listen to it do yourself the favor.
She also had yesterday's contact with the shows longtime producer and asked him how the brothers managed to always be so funny on their show from start to finish. He said that they were always that way both on the air and off said he always felt honored to have come to know them. He had talked to Tom as late as last week and said that for someone like Tom to have lost his mind to alzheimers was an obsenity.Bob

Today's show was a tribute to the late great Tom. I'm enjoying it now as I type this.

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

That was a great show. I laughed all through it and it left me with a tear in my eye. Thanks again Tom, you and Ray could immediately make my Sunday mornings start with a
smile and you did so again today. End of an era.Last edited by lz6; 11-10-2014 at 12:07 AM.

Think about this: How does a show like Car Talk wind up on NPR? What was it that kept it on the air for 27 years? Why do we love to listen to the Tappet Bros as we go about the business of our Saturday mornings?
Answer: The joy that the two clearly shared in each others company was instantly contagious. And it's that elegant simplicity that we're all going to miss.!! Enjoy the exquisite taste sharpening sharpening taste exquisite smooth. Please taste the taste enough to ride cutlery.
