Blew my mind that anyone would even attempt Voodoo Child after Hendrix, but Stevie Ray was his equal.
I'd say more than hendrix' equal

No, play .010's as I need my fingertips.

Stevie had powerful, big hands. I have big hands as well as I am 6' 2" 204 lbs but my hands are not that powerful as I don't play all day as he did. lol

That's why SRV played down the 1/2 step.... otherwise it would be like playing on an acoustic... I've done it before, but my fingers were RAW the next few days

I agree. I love Hendrix and am not taking anything away from him as he was incredible and innovative, but in my opinion he was more skilled than Jimi. But then again he played longer and he had Jimi as one of his biggest influences and he built upon and exceeded Hendrix in that area. I would love to have seen how good they both would have been by now. It would have been amazing!

He played a half step down because he couldn't sing at normal tuning. That's what I have read.

SRV WAS more skilled than Hendrix... there would be no way to argue anything else... you could try to play the 'more musical' card, but I'd still say you'd fail... Nobody plays like Stevie
