In the UK it was compared to the Laurel & Hardy sketch, as well as our old TV adverts from the 70s for PG Tips tea bags. In the advert there were chimps dressed up as removal men, trying to move a mini-piano up some mini-stairs. They're making faces and pretending to talk, over which human voices have been dubbed:

Chimp 1: " 'Ere Dad, d'you know the piano's on my foot?"
Chimp 2: "No son, but if you hum it I'll play it."

Boom-boom-tish!
