Started M'Cheyne's 1 year Bible Reading Plan, + a lot of other reading besides. Couple pots of coffee and some pipe smoking to boot.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

Thanked: 485Let me think...
Got up to the wife being angry because I got drunk on New Year's Eve (since when can't you get drunk on New Year's Eve?!?).
Went for a 10 K bike ride. Vacuumed my bedroom, did some ironing, had a shave, took pictures of said shave and posted to the SOTD thread, went to in laws' place and had a nice tea, two long necks of Cooper's Pale Ale. Came home, went straight to bed...Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?

Bread and water can so easily become tea and toast

Thanked: 485I should read The Bible more. Pretty much stuck on an audio book of Ecclesiastes, an audio book of The Book of Job, an audio book of The Imitation of Christ (sporadically) and some rather left of centre pseudo religious audio books by Tolstoy and Gustave Flaubert...
Also reading the letters and poems of John Keats, 'I and Thou' by Martin Buber and Agatha Christie's 'One, two, Buckle my Shoe. I tend to read bits of books rather than whole books these days...Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?

I got up late around 9:30, thought about making scones but on second thought put a bottle of sparkling rose to chill instead. Took that to brunch I was invited to where I had all kinds of nice food other people had made
Pretty lazy dinner later on - sandwiches with serrano ham and the last of the christmas stollen with tea.
All in all rather chillaxed start of the year.
