Good idea, but they may not take it after it arrives, especially for old farts' cadavers. There is no guarantee that the remains will be used and so the family may be stuck with a huge unexpected final expense. I set up my Cremation society to ask before picking up the remains.
My Drivers license shows organ donation if possible.

While we have plots in Louisville we have decided to donate our bodies to a local med school.
If that does not work out then cremation. I want my ashes scattered in a field of her choice.

Both my wife and I will be cremated and the ashes mixed together after the last one passes. Half of mine will be spread out on my families farm and the other half mixed with hers. Then they will be taken to our favorite mushroom woods and spread out

I am a donor also but the older I get the less chance that anything will be worth harvesting. Even my eyes are starting to wear out.

They can always use your bones,esp your femurs,They harvest them,de hydrate them, cut them into slabs to be used as spinal implants.
Used to work in the buis,I know all about this stuff.
