Not really - you can vote for candidates you pick yourself. You just have to convince them to run first and then convince enough of your fellow citizens to do the same and your candidate wins. You can run yourself too.
Do you need money and power to convince somebody? At which point you get what you want at a gun point, and why do you think it's better?

Frankly, when people have the option to vote and elect those who govern them in a peaceful manner, yet keep being unhappy with those they elect, how would killing each other will change anything? Sure the side that wins gets to pick the rulers, but are they going to make better choices, or agree among themselves when they had just killed a whole lot of people they disagree with?

At the end of the day you can't fix your own failures by killing other people.

Lets see. it wasn't that long ago that guys went on a killing spree in Canada and the master at arms shot and killed him. do you think that the master at arms should have offered him a cup of tea. Everyone is quick to down grade the USA until these evil people come to there country and then what have they done in the past. How many American's lives were lost in Europe for the European people. all of them. not just one country . Yes it is easy to sit at a computer and say you should do this or you should do that but when something happens to you it's quite a different story. When you fight evil you get evil. that's really the way you win. after winning then you can sort things out but you can't sort things out if you don't win. Good going gssixgun

Simple the West and regional governments in the Mid East have to deal with ISIS militarily first. Anyone captured goes on trial at The International Court of Justice and is acquitted or sentenced there. The Jihadists are doing what they are doing and you certainly have no control over that other than to take military action and judicial action when it is over.

The reason most all people are sitting in their armchairs talking about it is that realistically they cannot, as individuals, do anything about it. It is not our decision to make but rather the people we elected to form our various governments and in some cases governments that were not elected coming from that region. Chin wagging is the only real option.

Well if we're making it personal responsibility, and not being keyboard warriors, perhaps those who insist that the only solution is to go kill them all should indeed get out of their comfy chairs. Buy some guns and ammo if they don't already have enough, a plane ticket and go shoot jihadis where they live to their hearts content.

Yes when you just pay your taxes, but somebody else has to deal with the horrors of the war it's easy to talk big words and think we just aren't violent enough and not killing enough of them, or treating them too kindly.
Real respect for the men and women in uniform is not putting a bumper sticker, but caring about what these people have to deal with enough to not make them go through more than absolutely necessary.

I honestly think if you step back and look at this whole area of topics being discussed it comes down to a few root causes, number one being money. Money is now, and has been for quite some time, power. The wealthiest family in the world has a hold on more than half of the world's wealth. To me this is an outrageous statistic. That amount of power let's this one family control world markets, start and finish wars, and choose the outcomes. Think of the people being elected not only in America, but all free first world countries. These people are rarely common people standing up for what they believe in, and strictly doing what is right. They are almost always pawns to a bigger game. A game that 99% of us will never even play!

The MAA did his job quite well and he just may have had a cup of tea afterwards or possibly something stronger. Nobody that I know has been suggesting we deal with terrorists by playing patty cakes either. For most the torture and holding captive for a decade of prisoners does not sit well. Bring them to justice promptly for a verdict and sentencing might just sit a bit better.

As for casualties suffered in WWII, I believe the Russians hold that dubious honour to the point of having suffered more that all others combined. Besides if that squabble had not been settled there it would have been at our door sooner than later and we would have been alone over here. There was no altruistic motive for involvement in a European war just plain good sense. Better to destroy someone else's house in a brawl rather than your own.

Maybe, those that profess dialogue as a solution should buy the plane ticket and go over and talk to them rather then shoot them ... I am quite sure they would be more then happy to sit down over a cup of tea and listen to your peaceful solutions :) They have treated others that have tried so well in recent months

They are so open and receptive to new ideas :p


When ya come up with an idea that they agree to follow, I am willing to listen, until then you offer no solution to the violence, and if there must be violence then it is best to be the winner and the faster we win the more innocent lives are spared...

I find that only making suggestions of what the West and the US should do is pretty much a cop out to addressing the core issues..


ps: I am also perfectly fine with leaving the region all together and sitting back and letting them all fight it out as long as we agree to a Detant policy with absolute and deadly repercussions for attacking Israel.. this would be Heartless and Inhumane but many of you seem to be ok with it, to me it is Immoral
