The MAA did his job quite well and he just may have had a cup of tea afterwards or possibly something stronger. Nobody that I know has been suggesting we deal with terrorists by playing patty cakes either. For most the torture and holding captive for a decade of prisoners does not sit well. Bring them to justice promptly for a verdict and sentencing might just sit a bit better.

As for casualties suffered in WWII, I believe the Russians hold that dubious honour to the point of having suffered more that all others combined. Besides if that squabble had not been settled there it would have been at our door sooner than later and we would have been alone over here. There was no altruistic motive for involvement in a European war just plain good sense. Better to destroy someone else's house in a brawl rather than your own.
