Apple Keynotes for 3/9/2015
What are you the most excited about ?
Me , I am really liking the new MacBook. Though not suited for gaming, it is a beautiful piece of electronic art. Thin, light, enough battery power to last a full day ....... nice. But , expensive. 8(
Still waiting for work on a new Apple TV.So I drive a station wagon , what of it ? ( www.lxforums.com )

The Apple Watch , I'm not too sure about this.
It looks great, it has many features and is supposedly extremely scratch resistant.
What are the things that are cool ?
1- You can answer a call through the watch - no need to pull your phone out of your pocket.
2- You can check, delete, move and mark your email.
3- If you get an email with a specific date you can automatically have that added to your calender.
4- it tracks your heart rate, has a pedometer, and has access to health related apps.
If the price and battery life are good I may consider looking into one as it is extremely customizable. So I drive a station wagon , what of it ? ( www.lxforums.com )

I've just watched the keynote.
The new Macbooks do look really nice.
I'm all set for a while longer though, with my current stable of portable and stationary Macs.
As for the watch thing, I'm not sure either.
Then again, it is too cool to pass up onBjoernar
Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years....

I know. I'm an Apple fan .... always have been ever since my first iPod. I wish they would have released some news about the upcoming changes to the AppleTV though. Oh well.

Thanked: 49One of the more important announcements may have been the HBO one. The trick for Apple, Google, etc is going to be getting around those "4 billion reasons" (TV owners/cable subscribers) for content providers to stick with TV, cable, satellite, etc. Right now you can watch a bunch of content on your Apple TV, but the secret code to get to much of it is a password that you enter which is tied to your current cable or satellite account. Some of the basic cable networks that have commercials will let you on for free, but not the ones that would make me get rid of cable if I could get it on Apple TV, like ESPN and the other sports networks. I would say that the majority of my TV watching of late has been college football and basketball and the occasional NFL game. For a lot of pure entertainment stuff, I use Netflix, Amazon Prime and iTunes. You see how Netflix, Amazon and the premium cable networks like HBO have shifted heavily towards original product. That is the trend and THAT is where Apple will kill when this happens. Remember that they are a HUGE premium content provider.

I am very content with Windows as far as computers are concerned.Stefan

Thanked: 49More news out today. Apple has been trying for a while to talk the broadcast networks and their peripheral affiliates like ESPN to come over to the dark side and put together what they call a "skinny package" of channels for AppleTV at a reasonable price. Apparently the networks have finally gotten serious about it. Rumor has it that they are working on a basic package that would have about 25 channels and include ESPN. As I stated previously, I would drop my current ISP/cable package which has only one premium movie bundle (Starzz) and cost me like $200 because of lack of competition if i could get sports on AppleTV. and use streaming services like Netflix and Amazon Prime. Looks like I might get my wish.
