I just watch President Obama give the eulogy for the Reverend Clementa Pinckney on CNN. I have always taken any speech by a politician with more than a grain of salt. This is the one time where I did not. He delivered a powerful eulogy, sermon, statement of fact and reality in a way no one expected. Yes, part political, but the part that wasn't was a man who understands the meaning and power of words, and relying on his church upbringing, delivered a soul searching, audience responding, standing ovation, so well paced that you could not but be caught up in it and respond with your amens. And he ended it with him bringing the congregation to join him in singing Amazing Grace. This was a moment in history.
