It is much, much faster to boot and load. Can't say if surfing is any faster as Time Warner seems to be having bandwidth problems.
I am starting to get familiar with the system and see no reason to go back. Just remember, I did a clean install of 7 before loading 10. Not having a bunch of artifacts from the older system has always served me well.If you don't care where you are, you are not lost.

Thanked: 3227I did not do a clean install of Win 7 before installing Win 10 but agree that Win 10 is faster. Seems to load pages from favourites faster too using Edge than Chrome in Win 7 did. Mind you when I use Chrome now it too seems a bit faster. Slowly using the Edge browser more and feeling my way around it. It is a pita to try and figure out a new system when you are not computer savvy. Long ago abandoned any thoughts of privacy in the electronic age, comes with the territory.

More corroboration. A few co-workers here have also gone to Windows 10 and are happy with the move so far. One claims it is much faster than Win 7, so that is tempting.

Speaking of which, do yourself a favor and turn off some of their surveillance settings. The real price of Windows 10 is your privacy

Yep, I hear you loud and clear. Heck, I have a Gmail account. I have no notion of privacy there that's for sure, but I'm still glad Snowden blew the whistle even though largely everyone shrugged their shoulders. C'est la vie.

I ran into a few glitches in Windows 10 yesterday and contributed it to upgrading over a long time running with many updates Windows 7. I never have liked upgrading as there is always a lot of garbage left behind, always had better luck with a clean install. I got to looking around in the Update & Security section and saw where you could reset Windows and you have a few choices on saving your personal files, settings, programs etc. I made sure that I had all my personal files & settings saved to my external hard drive and opted to reset Windows only and get rid of my other apps. After Windows finished I reinstalled my apps, copied personal files back where they needed to be and Windows 10 seems to be running much better now, even got more free hard drive space than before.....may have a tiny bit more speed.
I came real close to going back to Windows 7 and wait until the first service pack was released before trying 10 again but I think I'll give it a second chance. If she screws up again.....shame on her!Last edited by DoughBoy68; 08-14-2015 at 05:59 AM.
