Windows 10
Any fellow members tried Windows 10 yet? I upgraded from Windows 7 which I have really liked to Windows 10 last night, or should I say early Sat. morning and have not spent a great deal of time testing it out yet. So, I was curious if any other members have had a chance to test it out and in your opinion the pros and cons of Microsoft's latest OS...........

I've had it installed since the 29th, so far I'd say it easier to use, but so far my feeling is, "meh"...personally, always takes a few weeks to become familiar with a new OS to discover the tricks and new features.

Thanked: 0I have been using it for a week. and the boot speed is much quicker. My old windows 7 would show me the Desktop, but at the background all the processes keep starting, which makes my laptop useless for at least 5 minutes.
UI changed, but is ok. The new start menu works almost the same, icons, placing changed. And they added extra windows with weather info, etc to the start menu. Which is kinda handy.
There are more changes, but I am just starting to find out...

Went out and got a new machine with windows 8,I hated that sucker, took it back to frys and told them this thing is crap.
No prob, wil issue a full refund.
Took my old windows 7 machine to the tech dept, asked if they could do a compleate resto back to what it once was, they did in two days.
Even the tech guys hated windows 8CAUTION

Thanked: 0I understand you. I tried windows 8 as well. There is just no need to change a very good user interface.
Don't they understand that there are many people just want a working computer. And that there are many old people who are
just not happy if they have to re-learn everything again. It just ain't practical. It's just like all the car producers place the car shifters at the
front of you and the steer at the right or left! Where is the logic!!!

Thanked: 3223Installed Win 10 a couple of days ago. It took slightly over an hour to self install and is a bit quicker than my Win 7 was. So far two glitches reared their ugly heads. At first my printer wouldn't work so messed around a bit and it is now printing fine. Second day the screen started to freeze every so often and so far only a hard restart will cure it. Will live with that hoping an update will cure it eventually, not being PC savvy myself. I still use Chrome not the new search engine.
Only up graded because eventually they won't support Win 7 which I was happy with. I don't need or want all the new features in Win 10 but you never know when you might want/need them down the road.

I installed Win10 the 29th and then proceeded to try to break it. I did a pretty good job as Edge and several tiles would no longer work. You can really hose 10 by screwing with the security stuff. After that I did a clean install of Win 7, registered again and did the 10 install.
Putting 10 over a clean install of 7 resulted in blazing fast boots and everything works great. Unlike BobH, I am going to give Edge a full run for a month. If it does not meet my expectations I will go back to Chrome which I really liked.
The directory in explorer is much cleaner than 7. I always hated 7's directory.
The tile start menu is appealing more and more to me. Having the temp and other live feeds is great. Just starting to get Cortana educated. This app may be the best part of 10.
Has anyone figured out how to organize the favorites in the Edge Hub? It has baffled me so far. A big negative on that.If you don't care where you are, you are not lost.
