My main turnoff anymore on the Ebay is the reft of 'restored' razors. They pay a premium, blow out the tang stamp and overheat the blade.
Then, the shiny turd gets a fine hone job with a wonkey bevel on a bevy of badassed rocks and relisting it as some sort of masterpiece instantly makes it worthless. Some acrylic scales are desirable! That and all the junk."Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.

Agreed on the "restored" razor thing. It's incredible what people think is good work.

Thanked: 77My best advice is to take your time. I've been paid over $77 for a razor and that's only because someone else paid half of it.
And if you look around you can still find a cheep wade and butcher.

Thanked: 39Well, it happened ,found a Landers,Fray &Cark "Universal" for sale and bought it for $9.50. Looks to be in excellent shape. The seller says its a # 344. I figured buying a cheap one first will help get my feet in the pond.

I've been a fully payed up member of the Ebay hunting party since 2003 buyer and seller, I will say even for the most experienced of us you still need to approach these things with a fare amount of caution, good deals can be had but beware at all times lots of questions to the seller helps If he's a genuine guy he will fill in all the blanks If he doesn't answer your PM's then move on.

Thanked: 3795For all you know, the other person could have bid $100 higher than you did, and he still would have won it for only $1.00 over your bid.
Now relax and start looking for another one.

Yep, lots of razor fish in the sea! You just want to be careful not to get caught up into spending more than you want- I found it is better to just set my max price and then let it go. If I win it, great, and if not it is on to the next one

Thanked: 39I've discovered this also, You can get caught up in the Action and end up paying more than you really wanted (Hasn't happened to me YET). lots of razors out there to be bought or at least bid on. You have to restrict yourself to certain razors and if they don't have multiple pictures just pass it by.
