Those are impressive. I don’t think my chubby arthritic fingers would be able to manage that kind of intricate knot work.

Gramps taught me how to try a hangman's knot at the age of eight.

This is a bit of my knotwork.
    Rescue rope and Bell pull.

close up of pull, 1886 Morgan in the loop.

The 50 foot rescue rope has a monkeys fist, weighted with a wooden ball, so it will float, an eye splice a few feet back so it can be slipped over the shoulders and a manrope knot on the bitter end so it doesn't come out of your hand. And some stout seizing where needed.

I too learned the hangmans noose at a young age. I was told its no good unless it has 13 loops.

My first try at the monkeys fist...
It could have been cleaner looking but i just gave it a first try. I read some put marbles and balls inside of them.

So someone point me in the right direction to find a site with a bunch of cool knots and possibly the bell pulls. This is feeling like something i need to do.

Oh no! Did i fall down another rabbit hole?

I'm not trying to be a smartass but I have to ask you why would you do something like this, knowing these razors would probably never be used? I'm really curious of your reasons.....

Now what in the world did you do to make your Gramps want you to 'TRY' a hangman's knot?
Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdin’s cave of 'stuff'.
