    Are you going to fill that beautiful bowl with walnut before you give it to him. So he knows that it is a walnut bowl. Perhaps include a set of nut crackers.

    Well Mike, now that I see the finished product, my joke about filling the bowl made from walnut with walnuts is not nearly as funny. However the finished nut bowl with the built in nut cracked is very nice. Did you make the cracker too? I promise not to cracker any jokes about that.

    I showed the wife the nut bowl. She said they used to sell them with that cracker years ago. I told her Mike made it. She liked it even more than. She said Nice Job Mike!

    The brass hardware is from Lee valley, I turned the handle, drilled to fit a coarse threaded shaft, voila.
    The grain on this one is stunning. Never know till finished what the wood will reveal in its grain patterns. Just kept drawing the sides and base thinner till the pattern was as good as I could capture, sand and done..
