I just had this vision about how the Irish would ask for a divorce.

Tennis balls a great way to keep the tail end from wiggling when you are nipping down the stem I found. As it is, this project was right at the extreme of what I will attempt on this little midi lathe I think. Far to much resonance and vibration to really trust the tools when working.
And the wife corrected me, it’s called a wedding goblet not marriage cup, har..

First coat of finish applied. Nice grain..

Tim I think in Irish lore the cup, sorry,, Goblet, is broken against the husbands head to free the rings once divorce is called..

Got lucky, and of course we never show those shots, hehe.
Pretty wood to work with and a nice smell while turning. Now to finish..

With Valentine's Day coming up I put my blacksmithing skills to use and made a vase and a flower out of steel for my wife. First time making a flower and the vase was just playing around.

Nice job. One year i was looking for a glass flower. When i found them they sure were expensive. Tried to find one at a second hand shop. Nope. Guessing they dont last very long before breaking.

Nice ! Is that a patina on the steel . Looks brassy on my screen.
