Thanked: 4207Tinkerer through and through is all Dave, but thanks buddy.
Stare at something long enough and it makes sense, hehe. At least if it was built logically anyway.

Thanked: 4207So, American made, high end gas range with Mexican built display board, less than two years old, the display gets loose, I figure, no problem screws came loose maybe.
Ummm, no..
Crappybrittle plastic either couldn't take the heat, was side loaded during install, or a bit of both. But all four corners busted off.
Course a year and a half old with a one year warranty.. So bust out the bonding agents..
And build me some ca bridges.
First I'd reconnect the corners lightly to whatever original break lines i could. Then I'd use tape to seal the holes, fill wit the powdered ca binder and recoat with liquid again.
Anyway, annoyed I had to spend a few hours fixing a relatively new appliance, but happy I didn't have to buy a new display,, yet..
Cheers men."Depression is just anger,, without the enthusiasm."

Thanked: 580One year warranty? I would be kicking up a storm about that and demanding another display.

But those emails aren't fit for a thread, hehe. The repair was cause I don't want to wait for the weeks it's gonna take to convince them."Depression is just anger,, without the enthusiasm."

So I woulda put a metal strap across the ends as well.
Funny how things like that quit happening as I got the hamfisted youngsters out of the house!

Thanked: 4207Funny you say that Tom, my boy was quick to proclaim his innocence, before I even asked...
Hehe, a little bit of a guilty conscience perhaps.
Good idea on the metal strips too. If it refails, that will be repair 2.0..
