Yep! Too bad. He could have made something good of his life. Not any longer.
One side done and one to go. Taking a short break!

Looks kinda rusty! Consider some anti-seize on those caliper-slides.
And the second picture was the "good" side that wasn't giving any problems!
'05 Liberty that was bought in '06 75,000 miles. I replaced the pads before and they were only about 1/2 gone but the rotors and calipers were original.
I love Minnesota winters and the salt on the roads....
The brakes are still a little mushy but bleeding them with my wife might be the issue. LOL
I can take care of that tomorrow when I replace the blower fan resistor.
I did my sons brakes yesterday and I am done for the day:D
P.S. There is anti seize all over now and the one pictured only took 15 minutes of beating to get the rotor off!
We have an 02 with 207,000. Bought it with 165,000 and a dropped valve seat. A piston, rod, bearing and rings in a box from the dealer and all new valve seats locktited and staked-in fixed it. Still rocking.
Fast little thing.....
Being an 02 I assume yours is gas. What do you get for mileage? Mine is a diesel and the last time I bothered to check it was a little over 23 mpg pulling a 14 foot boat.
Never saw a diesel Liberty? What type of engine?
Yeah....Gas-sucker. Could not figure how my Dakota with a 4.7 V8 gets 20, give or take, on the highway and the 3.7 Jeep gets MAYBE 18 on the open road with the same engine minus 2 cylinders.....
Discovered my Dakota has a 3:55 rear gear while the jeep has 3;73.
WTF? Jeep takes-off like a banshee. Does not need such a low gear.
Typical Detroit crap. A 4wd gear ratio in a 2wd vehicle.
Mine has and Italian 2.8 liter 4 cyl. From what I remember reading at the time a tested motor in Europe. Also it is 4wd I don't know the gear ratio offhand.
I have not brought it to a dealer for a recall because from what I have read the recall detunes the engine for some standard.
I figured out my mushy brake problem. I mixed up the right and left calipers so the bleeders were on the lower side. I had to take it apart and swap them today!:gaah:
At least all the bolts were loose and anti seized so it went much quicker.:)
