Speaking from experience the leather tends to shrink with age.
Now is that the age of the leather or us?

Getting larger as I age seems to be an hereditary trait from my father's side. (my mother never weighed more than 110 lbs) All of us start out pretty small (I weighed less than 90 lbs as a freshman in High School) and after graduation I entered Navy boot camp at 130 lbs and when I got out I weighed 160 lbs (I'd grown up and out). Both of my younger brothers wrestled at around 112 lbs. One never put on much weight as he grew older (took after mom) but my youngest and I weigh about the same now. (180+)
My father wasn't very big either when he entered the Navy. He too grew and put on muscle/when he was at about 220 he was freaking amazing! Just solid muscle and strong as an ox. However when he quit smoking and doing field work he put on quite a bit of weight.
I was there the day the Dr told dad that he had 4 weeks to live. Dad had a friend in the Navy and they exchanged Christmas cards every year after dad was discharged. Well once mom and dad got home from the Dr I called mom and asked for dad's buddies address. I used that to find a phone number for dad's buddy. I told him the circumstances and told him that if he wanted to talk to my father as the man he was he needed to call soon as we didn't know how this would progress.
I'd told dad's friend that I'd let him know when dad was gone and I did. While we were talking the friend said something to the effect of dad 'wasting away' due to the cancer and I told him that dad had lost quite a bit of weight but he weighed over 200 lbs when he died.
Dad's friend bellowed over the phone---HE WEIGHED WHAT?!!?!?!?!! Dad weighed about 130 lbs when the friend had known him.
I don't think that I qualify as a 'Lardass' at least not yet!!
Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdin’s cave of 'stuff'.

Get yourself a pedal bike instead of that Harley and maybe the chaps will grow.
