Can't take credit for that one - I lifted it from those geniuses that write the Simpsons...

I watched another video where a guy was trying to explain how to solve the cube using vibes given off by a former vice president (Al Gore Rhythms ) and kept repeating these type of instructions. It got so all I heard was gibberish.

That's the same response I get from listening to Algore.

    *Not fluent in gibberish*

Steve - I just googled yours and found this (I'm guessing you know this one already): http://www.speedcubing.com/records/r...sc_21perm.html

Have you read some of the comments? There are people who do these things one handed???

Ahh, I should have known - the old permutation last layer (PLL) algorithm trick. An oldy but a goody. Personally I would have started with a genetic algorithm initial solution, modified that using the PPLL algorithm (permutation penultimate last layer), and followed it up with a PLL step. Sub 35 seconds for sure.

When Al Gore came to Australia to do the "Truth" promo tour, we had news reporters calling him "Ex-US president Al Gore". He was never President, was he? I know there was that whole "unpopped chad" thing (or whatever it was called) - was he unofficially President for a bit?

Jim, that wasn't the site I saw. I'll have to look through it. I never even knew speedcubing existed until last night. I'll link to the video I'm referring to (actually, it's a 4 parter).

Nope, never unofficially or officially. Not for a time or a season. It's just wishful thinking on the media's part.

Well if you decide to try their method, just remember to "lube the cube" before starting.
