The Fifth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution declares that no person shall be “deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law.”
Is it possible that the Federal government agreed to settle because they realize that their appointed thugs, the EPA, had acted in violation of the 5th Amendment, and imposed penalties on this man without "due process"? Could be. Maybe this wasn't so much a case of common sense, maybe more CYA.Substance likes this.
