Thanked: 98Long range FAL day and a Motorcycle ride....
Back in 07, I started a small gathering of RifleMen, in a few short years it got more attendance than I liked(too many new faces) so the younger guys took up the reins.
We shoot FALS Mostly and any other Milsurp including every kind of Machinegun known, out to ranges in excess of 1000 meters.
We have had some great food BBQ'ed out there and the campfire Talks are THE BEST in the West.
One of the rarest FALS there is The T48 U.S. Test rifle.
My favorite is the Para.

Thanked: 98Hope it is OK to post this here, just wanted to share. The Para above is the metal folding stock rifle. Over 95 countries used these rifles as Main Battle rifles.

Thanked: 884I like your choice of tools. Rather partial to that genre myself. My current version is an Stg-58
I still love my old M-1 more though.

Nice! You have good taste in root beer too.
I'd been wondering if your screename originated from the rifle.

Thanked: 884It's built on an older Entreprise lower. Guy that had it before me ran a gunshop and it was his baby till he built a heavy barrel Stg. I paid $750 for it 5 years ago.
That M-1 is 100% 1942 Springfield. Never been to a rework. Carried by a SEABEE in the Pacific and he brought it home with him. It was given to me by his brother. Been offered a lot of $$ on several occasions, but it's priceless to me. The gent that gave it to me was a B-17 pilot in WWII. He was hoot and I miss him. He's been gone since '98. His little brother that brought the rifle home was killed in '52 in a crop dusting accident, the year I was born.
Years ago, I had an L1-A1 with a still functioning SUIT sight. It was fun. Sold it to a buddy and he's still shooting it, but the tritium finally died in the sight. He put an LED set up in it and rocks on.Last edited by Wullie; 06-14-2016 at 03:41 AM.

Thanked: 98Cool story Wullie, sounds like you know FAL's well too, thanks man.
That M1 is amazing, from the pics, I don't think I have ever seen one with that nice a stock figure or metal condition. I'd like to see more detailed pics because it is so darn nice.

That M-1 is a beauty. Have always wanted one of those but doesn't look like that will happen. I do have an M-1 Carbine that belonged to my Great Uncle who was killed in WWII. The story is when they shipped his body back to the US, his rifle was in the box and my family never gave it back. Maybe that's what they did back then. It is an Inland Arms model and it doesn't see the light of day very often. Stays in the safe. I thought you guys might enjoy seeing the little brother of the m-1 Garand. I imagine isn't worth much but it is priceless to me!
Semper Fi !
