I own 3 mags 1 GI issue that came with the gun and 2 windowed pmags. I want to get atleast two more. I been meaning to get a conversion kit for mine to shoot .22 to plink around with. The way I look at it is stuff does get bad more ammo for if your not moving and enough that you could carry with what other gear and not drag you down. 1 loaded mag weighs about 1lb. They can add up quick. I wish I stock piled some .22 before they raised the price. Was about $15 for 550 rounds by me and now about $50 for 550 if you can find them. Pretty much have to order online now and even then usually have to pay more shipping for ammo. Can still find 5.56 everywhere, but small .22 is harder to find. I'd like to get one of those solvent cleaning kits to see how they work with .22, but of course I wouldn't put it together because it would be illegal without ATF stamp. My brother got a grenade launcher for his to shoot fireworks from. It actually worked alot better than i thought it would. Amazing how you can buy a grenade launcher over the counter, but need to deal with the ATF for a suppressor. Granted the grenades are what's illegal. I also need to Iet a 5 round mag if I every decided to hunt with it, but more than likely I'd use my 30-30. Speaking of all this I need to get to the range I haven't shot mine yet this year.

When I was in the Army we were issued 10rd clips and speedloaders to load 20 or 30rd magazines. I am hoping one day to pick up an Army style semi auto rifle and a .45 Colt pistol like I qualified with back in the day. If I ever hit the lottery I don't play I may get "The Pig" to "root" around with too. One of these days I guess.....

    Have a great day...

The "pig " is on my wish list. But they are not only expensive, you will go broke feeding one.

When I first joined the military my aircrafts primary armament was the good old M60D[emoji16] Now they have these new fangled M240D's, I liked the pig.

For the OP like the others have said keep as many as you feel you will need and or can carry my. I only have one AR I have probably 20 or so magazines for it. Get some stripper clips and charger loaders from here, https://oldsargesdropzone.com/index....acm8ff2u2qlrv7 or elsewhere then pre load your rounds and store them so they will be ready and easy to load when you need them.

I,m going to say this the Pig is fun to shoot, the Pig us expensive to shoot, and I still have nightmares from humping that Pig so I have not had any inclination to get one. Unless I have someone else to hump it. Tc

It's a lot more fun when it has it's own chopper or truck to haul it around.

Still have to wonder what the price paid to management in charge of purchasing was to move to the 240 and ditch the pig.

I know a guy in a beach city on the West Coast, who has made a good living adapting Ocean Going vessels with a drop in mount for M60’s.

So, you’re out at sea, somewhere in the Caribbean, you see some no-good nicks, circling your boat, you pop below, to your secret compartment, drop the pedestal in the hole on the deck, pop the 60 on the stand, and test fire, a short string.

Folks stop circling your boat and go look for less lethal pickings.

He’s very picky, who it works for and all referral based, totally legit, Class 3, and also does custom, prototype work for his uncle, but his bread and butter, are the 60’s on high dollar craft.
