Thank you all for your condolences.
We have leash law here. No free roaming dogs.
A pit bull moved into the next yard over a week before. It looked like it bite GB on his belly leaving five clean puncher wounds on the surface but shredded him internally.
It was a nightmare with the pit bull getting out and killing another my Fritz kitty too. It killed several other cats & dogs around here. Animal Control would not do anything unless two people witness it, out of its yard with your animal in it's mouth. I can understand the law but damn. If I could have caught it out of its yard I would have put it down. It took a couple weeks to find how the dog was escaping. The dog found a fence board that could be moved and the board would swing back into place after he went through.
I was beside myself till I talked to the owners several times, very old folks, were crushed, bless them and turns out they were keeping it for a few months as their granddaughter was on deployment to Iraq.
Since then we now have Hattie Tram and Henry & Hanna. We lost Hanna to coyotes a couple winters back.
It seems to go in waves. Kitties for over 25 years with all going the distance and then a rash of loses. Hopefully we're back on track.Shave the Lather...

Thanked: 39I hope you get back on track with some nice kitties, I have no use for Pit bulls even though some may be nice, they have too much of a "chase" and "kill" it genes for me. Hopefully you have fixed the problem of it getting loose.

The pit bull was only a problem for four or five months back in 2009 thank goodness. Kitties Hattie Tram and Henry are still with us so life is good. Hattie shows up in some of my photos here. She is my shadow, yard buddy and project commander. Everything must pass her muster. She looks at and sniffs and pokes everything.
Here's Inspector #12 on the job.

Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
